From House Hunting Nightmare to Renovating Disaster!

I know I've really been slacking on my blog the past few months, but I have been so busy!  Since my last post I finished installing my wood floors, and un-installed my wood floors.  In the last week of April, I came home to a flooded house.  The toilet supply line in the master bathroom had busted......I wasn't at the house for 5 days, so I really don't know how long the water was running for.  Enough to ruin all the time and hard work I put into the house the four months prior to.

I ended up hiring someone to re-paint the walls, to install new wood floors, and to install the tile and baseboards.  I didn't want to do it again.  And of course the drywall and insulation had to be replaced, because there was mold growth near the front door.  I moved in sometime in June/July (is it bad that I don't even remember the date?)  The house is still a work in progress, but then again what house isn't?

My kitchen cabinets have been painted, now I just need to paint the counter-tops.  I hope they turn out as well as the cabinets did, I LOVE THEM!  I finally decided on the entertainment center, and yes, it was in the living room when the house flooded, but it survived somehow.  I will post pictures soon, I promise.  I was without a computer for a while.

  2. House hunting is indeed one of the worst nightmares that every buyer can experience. However, the delight and satisfaction of this tiring journey will not only bring joy to you, but to your family members who will inherit the place. It's been years now but I haven't seen the photos of your furnished house. Hope you'll post them as soon as possible. Thanks! :)
